The Vivo X80 Pro And The Vivo X80 Launched In China

The Chinese tech giant has unveiled its new the Vivo X80 and the Vivo X80 Pro smartphones in China. The phones have a redesigned design and a big camera bump at the back, reminding some of you of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro smartphones, loaded with features, were formally unveiled in China on Monday by the Chinese company. The Vivo X80 series’ two variants boast ZEISS-certified cameras, Vivo’s V1+ imaging processor, compatibility for the latest MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets, and a host of other features.

The company also announced that it would be bringing an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor to the table to the likes of the Iqoo 9 series and the Vivo X Note. The scanning area of the X80 series is much bigger than that of typical in-display scanners. Vivo claims that the scanning area is 11 times greater than traditional scanners. This also makes it possible to scan two fingerprints at the same time.

The Vivo X80 Pro specifications

The Vivo X80 Pro’s key feature is the camera, and the phone lives up to its reputation as a premier camera phone. It has a ZEISS T* coating on the lens that helps reduce ghosting and unwanted light and an ultra-clear glass lens to help you achieve optimal clarity in your photos.
You’ll notice the difference with the micro-gimbal mode, portrait mode (even for moving photos), Night Portrait 4.0, enhanced night mode, the ZEISS classic portrait lens effect, ZEISS Cinematic Bokeh, ZEISS Natural Color 2.0, time-lapse 3.0, and so much more.

Cameras

The Vivo X80 Pro’s camera has a 50MP Samsung GNV sensor with OIS, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP portrait lens, and an 8MP periscope lens with OIS capability. It also has the V1+ ISP, which employs artificial intelligence to decrease noise, display effect optimization, and MEMC dynamic frame insertion.

The front-facing camera has a resolution of 32MP. The screen was manufactured by Samsung using LTPO tech. The 6.78-inch AMOLED 2K E5 screen supports 120Hz refresh rates, 1500 nits of peak brightness, 10-bit color depth, and other capabilities.

It is available with two different chipsets: the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. Both devices can support up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Battery

The Vivo X80 Pro gets power from a 4,700mAh battery, which can be charged at 80W using a PD fast charging cable and 50W wireless fast charging. OriginOS Ocean, based on Android 12, is the operating system for this device.

IP68 water resistance, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, twin stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, a vast VC cooling system, and various gaming capabilities (such as GPU Fusion Super Score and Dynamic Power Saving) are some of the other features.
WiFi 6, USB Type-C connector, Bluetooth version 5.3 (for the MediaTek edition), and Bluetooth are the connectivity options available on the Vivo X80 Pro.

The Vivo X80 features three back cameras. The primary camera is a 50MP Sony IMX866RGB sensor with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, while the front-facing camera is a 5MP sensor, while the selfie camera has a resolution of 32MP.

The phone boots to the OriginOS operating system on top of Android 12. Additional features like the X80 Pro include twin stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, an in-display fingerprint sensor, gaming-focused components, and more.


It also has a fingerprint reader and Face Unlock (similar to Apple’s Face ID) and the ability to make use of digital twin fingerprints and face recognition to speed up unlocking. The phone derives its power from a 4,500mAh battery.

Vivo X80 Pro And Vivo X80 Price

The Vivo X80 is the cheapest of the two, with CNY 3,699 (about). The Vivo X80 Pro has a starting price of CNY 5,499. Beginning today, both items will be available for pre-order and will be available for purchase on April 29.

The X80 is available in options with up to 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, and 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. The X80 Pro is also available for up to 12GB of RAM with 512GB storage, starting from 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage.
