MIUI 13 Launch Event Scheduled For Today In China, Xiaomi Claims Better Performance And Security

The much-awaited MIUI 13 launch is scheduled for today, 28 December 2021. Xiaomi officially announced the launch of its improved skin MIUI 13 based on Android 12. According to the Chinese time, the launch event will be held in China at 7.30 pm, which in Indian Standard time is 5 pm.

The Chinese mobile company claims that the upcoming MIUI 13 will offer more smoothness in the performance of the devices running on it, less frame drop and faster loading of the apps. In addition to announcing the MIUI 13 launch date, Chinese tech company Xiaomi has said that upgraded version of MIUI 12.5 would provide 20–26% optimised “fluency” for system applications that we often call bloatware and 15–52 per cent increased “fluency” for third-party apps if compared to MIUI 12.5. Additional claims made by Xiaomi were that the new MIUI version would provide a full-screen experience on more than 3,000 applications.

Along with privacy and security upgrades, the company has included a unique feature named Privacy Security Goalkeeper in the upcoming MIUI version, which is meant to allow users to protect themselves against the frauds we fall prey to via the internet telecom.

In the upcoming  MIUI 13, we can see a slew of upgrades in terms of screen wallpapers, Icons, themes to offer a modern look. Xiaomi also expected to fix the reported bugs in the previous version of MIUI skin.  The company has given hints that MIUI 13 will also be available as MIUI 13 Pad for tablets, improving multitasking capabilities.

Some of the highlighted features of the MIUI 13 skin are liquid storage, Focus Computing 2.0, and atomic memory to improve the read and write speed. The MIUI 13 skin is an upgradation to the existing MIUI 12.5 skin of Xiaomi.

In a poll posted on Weibo, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun asked the Chinese social media users what features they expected to see before the MIUI 13 launch.  Most users expressed their expectations that the product should be free of bugs.

Along with the MIUI 13 launch announcement, Xiaomi will also reveal Xiaomi 12 series smartphone in the same event happening today in China. CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the upcoming Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro would have MIUI 13 pre-installed on the phones. Other than the Xiaomi 12 series, the approved smartphones eligible for receiving the MIUI 13 update include MI Mix 4, Redmi K40 smartphones, Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra.
