Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has entered the Indian market as the latest models in the Realme 9 Pro 5G series. The company has launched two variants of the phone–Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro + 5G. Both the phones have some similarities and some non-similarities between them.
For similarities, both the phones sport a triple rear camera setup, 5G connectivity, punch-hole display on the front and the latest Light Shift design that enables the phones to change their colours to red when exposed to sunlight or ultraviolet rays. However, the Light Shift feature works finely with only the Sunrise Blue colour variant of the Realme 9 Pro series. On the other hand, both phones have differences in their specifications and pricing. Let’s go through the specifications of Realme 9 Pro G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G
Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G Specifications
The Realme 9 Pro 5G has a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz six-level adaptive screen refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, is available in two RAM configurations: 6GB and 8GB.
For its part, the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has a Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz on a 6.4-inch screen. The phone also features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, there is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC. The phone offers 6GB and 8GB RAM options as well.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G are outfitted with the same triple rear camera setup on the back. The Realme 9 Pro 5G carries a 64MP primary shooter (f/1.7) along with an 8MP wide-angle shooter and a 2MP macro shooter. There is a 16MP shooter on the front of the device.
There are three cameras on the Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G: a primary sensor with a resolution of 50MP and an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.
According to the company, the Realme 9 Pro 5G will include 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The company has mentioned that the Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G variant will be available in two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. It is also worth noting that while the Realme 9 Pro 5G features a single loudspeaker, the Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G comes with dual stereo speakers along with Dolby Atmos support. The fingerprint sensor on the Realme 9 Pro 5G has been provided on its side, while the one on the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The fingerprint sensor on Realme 9 Pro+ 5G does not only detect your fingerprint – it can also record your heart rate. In fact, as per Realme, you will get eight different heart rate labels – General, Working, Exercise, Resting; Excited, Stressed and Sleepless – which will help you keep track of your heart rates over a day. However, as mentioned by Realme itself, the heart rate sensor does not come with any medically approved certification, making the additional feature of the fingerprint sensor unreliable.

The Realme 9 Pro 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports SuperDart turbocharging at a rate of 33W. The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G, on the other hand, comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 60W turbocharging. Both smartphones will ship with the Android 12 operating system pre-installed, which will be integrated with the UI 3.0 interface of Realme.
Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ 5G Price
The Realme 9 Pro 5G has been introduced in India with a starting price of Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage configuration. and Rs 20,999 for 8GB + 128GB configuration.
At the same time, the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has been priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model, Rs. 26,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, and Rs. 28,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model.
Colour options available for the phones are Sunrise Blue, Aurora Green, and Midnight Black. Realme 9 Pro 5G will be available on sale starting from 23 February, while the Pro Plus variant will go on sale two days earlier – 21 February.
